Haskin Canoe spends most of their time training and guiding people outdoors.  We know the importance of being prepared especially with first aid skills. 

We have taken our interactive "hands on" approach from our paddling courses to our first aid courses.  Our courses are fun and engaging.

standard FIRST AID, cpr & AED Training

Duration: 14-16 hours
Price: $105/person + GST

Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR and AED.

Wilderness & Remote First Aid (20hrs)

Location:  Edmonton River Valley Area


Dates:  

Saturday & Sunday July 8 & 9, 2017

Monday & Tuesday, August 21 & 22, 2017


Time:  8:30 am to 5 pm


Cost:  $250.00 + GST (includes WRFA Field Guide)

 

This course will be taught outdoors so please come prepared for the weather.  There will be required home reading.

Basic level of Wilderness & Remote First Aid that covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas. Course also offers strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Suitable for those who work or live in remote locations or who are outdoor recreation enthusiasts.

Advanced Wilderness &
Remote First Aid (40hrs)

Location:  Edmonton River Valley Area
Date:  Spring 2018
Cost:  $465 + GST (includes Wilderness & Remote First Aid Field Guide) 

This course will be taught outdoors so please come prepared for the weather.  There will be required home reading. 

Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in isolated or wilderness settings. Training is also suitable for teachers and as those who act as guides or outdoor leaders. The course covers advanced strategies for providing extended care for more than 24 hours. 

 

PEOPLESAVERS

A four-level program developed by the Canadian Red Cross to teach safety awareness and first aid skills to elementary school-aged children (K - Gr 6). Lessons are supported by colouring workbooks for each level. 

Participants follow the PeopleSavers character for each level through a variety of everyday situations that are potentially dangerous and they learn to check for safety, call for help, and care for an injured person. 

The PeopleSavers mascot is always there to reinforce the safety message: "Prepare! Stay Safe! Survive!"

BABYSITTING

Basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11–15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents.                 GROUP BOOKINGS UPON REQUEST
