Haskin Canoe spends most of their time training and guiding people outdoors. We know the importance of being prepared especially with first aid skills.
We have taken our interactive "hands on" approach from our paddling courses to our first aid courses. Our courses are fun and engaging.

standard FIRST AID, cpr & AED Training
Duration: 16 hours

Comprehensive one day online course and one day in class. Offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR and AED.
Remote First Aid (20hrs - 2.5 days)
Location: Edmonton & Area
Duration: 20hrs
April 12 - 14, 2024
Day 1: 6:30-9:30 pm, Day 2 & 3: 8:30 am to 6 pm

This course will be taught outdoors so please come prepared for the weather. There will be required home reading.
Basic level of Remote First Aid that covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus special material on techniques for remote areas. Course also offers strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Suitable for those who work or live in remote locations or who are outdoor recreation enthusiasts.
Wilderness First Aid (40hrs - 5 days)
Location: Edmonton and Area
Dates: Private bookings available.
Remote to Wilderness Bridge (see above for first weekend dates) April 19 to 21 (Friday eve), Saturday & Sunday 8:30 to 5:30 pm. Cost: $240.00

Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in isolated or wilderness settings. Training is also suitable for teachers and as those who act as guides or outdoor leaders. The course covers advanced strategies for providing extended care for more than 24 hours.
